"We are the proud owners of six of Vanessa Piche’s original paintings. The first two were purchased at two different Wickford (Rhode Island) Art Festivals and the next three were commissions. What initially attracted us to Vanessa’s paintings is her uncanny ability to capture color, light and composition. Her skies, with powerful clouds, create an inviting balance whether it is combined with water, people, buildings, or boats. Two of our commissioned paintings are of our grandsons; one with them walking down dock with crabbing gear and the other of them in waist deep water digging quahogs. She nailed both of them so well. The third commission is of the Narragansett coast line with the perspective from Narragansett Bay. Our most recent painting we purchased from Vanessa was one of her earlier renderings of the RI coastline depicting “Beavertail (Jamestown, RI) Looking North,” capturing its rocky coast line, waves and its powerful ability to wreak havoc on mariners venturing too close. Vanessa is clearly one of our favorite artists and her work is displayed prominently throughout our home. Her versatility has served her well."
